Alyson Blume, Choreographer & Teacher
Alyson has worked across the country as both a director and choreographer. Off-Broadway: The Messiah; Regional credits include: Andrew Lippa's A Little Princess (World Premiere), Pajama Game, Once Upon A Mattress, School House Rock, subUrbia, Animal Farm, I Want To Grow Old With You (World Premiere), 4.48 Psychosis, Once On This Island, Peter and Maime (World Premiere) and The Syringa Tree. As a dancer she has most recently been seen in Alvin Ailey: A Tribute. She
received her B.F.A at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama and was awarded the Marguerite Carra Memorial Fellowship.
Emily Parkhurst, Musical Director
Emily is pleased to be joining Broadway by the Bay as a music director for YTC. Originally from Lansing, MI, she holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Hope College in Holland, MI, where she spent two summers working with Hope Summer Repertory Theatre as an assistant music director. Emily completed her master’s degree in music direction at Arizona State University in 2006. Her work in the Bay Area includes two summers with Hillbarn Theatre’s Summer Conservatory and Bowditch Middle School’s 2007 production of The Wizard of Oz.
Danielle Santana, Assistant Conservatory Director
Danielle recently graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.A. in theatre arts, specializing in technical theatre. She has worked with Broadway By the Bay on several productions since 2002. She began with Me & My Girl and went on to work Funny Girl, Cabaret on crew, Ragtime and Miss Saigon as crew chief, Bye Bye Birdie as assistant stage manager and then going on to stage manage My Fair Lady and Fiddler on the Roof. This year she began working in the BBBay offices, while also assistant stage managing this year’s Show Boat and later this season Beauty & the Beast, Ahrens & Flaherty Words & Music and she will stage manage Annie Get Your Gun. Danielle has been active in youth theatre in the area stage managing for Bowditch Middle School’s spring musicals, teaching elementary school enrichment programs, and as the assistant youth conservatory director at Hillbarn Theatre in Foster City where she was for 2 years.
She is excited to be a part of the BBBay staff as the
Marketing and Education & Outreach Manager.
Spencer Blank, Assistant Musical Director
Spencer is currently a Classical Piano Performance Major at the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. With a background ranging from musical theatre to popular to jazz, he has been playing piano for many years and has been vocal coaching and music directing throughout his high school and college years. He is thankful to be receiving first rate conservatory training, currently as the accompanist of a former Metropolitan Opera Principal Artist and the student of a Brevard Conservatory Scholar. He is also very excited to be joining the team of distinguished faculty members at Broadway By The Bay for the first time!
Robert Campbell, Teacher
Robert is finishing up his BA at Santa Clara University in June. For the past 2 ½ years he has thrown himself into all aspects of the theatre with an emphasis in acting. Of his favorite roles he has played are: Coriolanus in Coriolanus, Romeo in Romeo & Juliet, Veitumnus in Metamorphoses and Brian in The Shadow Box. He is very excited for his first summer teaching at
BBBay.
Brandy Collazo, Teacher
Brandy is overjoyed to be a part of such a talented staff (again!) and is even more glad that she is fortunate enough to teach the YTC kids! She has taught/assistant choreographed for several summers now, with such companies as YTC and Hillbarn, and has assistant choreographed the Bowditch Middle School productions for the last five years as well. When not working with the future stars of Broadway, Brandy is an active performer herself, having starred/co-starred in many Bay Area productions. She thanks the YTC parents for giving their children the opportunity to perform!|
Morgan Collazo, Teacher
Morgan has been performing since the age of 11. She has worked with companies such as Palo Alto Players, Ray of Light Theatre and our very own Broadway By the Bay. She has performed with Bowditch Middle School and San Mateo High School in various shows including Will Roger’s Follies, Oklahoma, Hello Dolly, Joseph…Dreamcoat, Smile, Fiddler on the Roof and The Music Man. Some of her favorite past roles includes The Witch in Into the Woods, The Nurse in Romeo & Juliet, The Sour Kangaroo in Suessical the Musical and Patti-Lynn Bird in Smile. She most recently performed in Ray of Light Theatre’s production of The Secret Garden in Concert. She is over the moon to be a part of YTC’s staff for the first time!
Tony Gapastione, Teacher
Tony is originally from Chicago where he got his love for theater. He has directed and acted in many productions in which his favorite was playing Shakespeare's Romeo. Since moving to the Bay Area he has become a SAG actor through involvement in films and commercials. He loves kids and recently he and his wife Wendy became new parents to daughter, Isella Rose, born March 25th, 2007. You can visit his website at www.tonygapastione.com.
Victoria Holden, Teacher
Victoria has recently graduated from the University of Arizona with her BFA in Musical Theatre. For the last year she has worked as a music instructor in private schools. Victoria has worked in all aspects of theater but has spent most of her time on the stage. Some of her favorite credits include, Anna Galactia in Scenes from an Execution, Rita in Lucky Stiff, Carrie in Carousel, Lucy in Snoopy, Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie, and Dolly Dimples in Side Show. She is very exciting to be joining the YTC staff and is looking forward to a great summer.
Danny Martin, Teacher
Danny has been a teacher on the peninsula for the last seven years. He is a graduate of San Francisco State and has studied acting and musical theatre at A.C.T. in San Francisco. He has performed with Broadway By the Bay, Palo Alto Players, Woodside Community Theater, Hillbarn, and Pacifica Spindrift. He is excited to be joining such a great team and looks forward to a great summer.
Christie Puiello, Teacher
A native of San Mateo, Christie has been involved with BBBay for several years. During her time with BBay she has enjoyed working in the office & backstage, as well as singing with the orchestra! Ms. Puiello is a recent Cum Laude graduate of San Francisco State University, where she received a B.A. in Theatre Arts with a Performance emphasis. Christie also holds an A.A. degree in Liberal Studies from College of San Mateo. When not working at BBBay, Christie enjoys performing and teaching at Bay Area Pre-Schools. Recent acting credits include San Francisco State University’s The Karamazov’s (based on Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov), which she played the role of Liza & singing in BBBay’s Miss Saigon. Christie’s love for Theatre is just as great as her love for teaching and plans on becoming a certified elementary teacher very soon!
Angela Schiavone, Teacher
Angela is an actress and writer currently finishing up her last year at Santa Clara University as a Theatre Arts Major and English Minor. She has done theatre acting since around the age of five and started doing film work a couple of years ago. She played Susie in the independent film, Hubris, which has been accepted in seven film festivals so far. Just recently, she finished up A View From the Bridge in which she played Catherine. Angela started training in stage combat two years ago starting with sword fighting and advancing to hand to hand and other weapons. She began teaching stage combat as well as continuing to train and act as fight captain for Coriolanus at the University. She has also recently published her first novel, Metanoia, which can be purchased at www.lulu.com/elvishangel. Angela loves teaching and working with kids. She hopes to help them expand their imaginations and help them believe they can do anything they put their minds to.
Zach Trimmer, Teacher
Zach is so excited to be working at YTC this summer! Last summer, he worked as a teacher and production assistant for Hillbarn's Conservatory. Acting credits include: Fiddler on the Roof (Motel), Miss Saigon (G.I./Schultz/Chris, John u/s), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Dan), and Bye Bye Birdie (teen ensemble), all with BBBay, as well as Seussical the Musical (Horton), The Secret Garden (Archibald), and Into the Woods (Prince/Wolf) at SMHS. He's looking forward to an exciting, fun-filled summer!
Khalia Davis, Assistant teacher
Khalia is currently studying theatre arts at the University of Southern California. Originally from the Bay Area, she has worked with numerous theatre companies such as, TheatreWorks, American Musical Theatre San Jose, Children's Musical Theatre San Jose, and Sunnyvale Community Players. Ms. Davis continues her work in voice (musical theatre, jazz, classical), dance (tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet) as well as the art of acting.
Rebecca Carteris, Assistant
Rebecca is junior at Carlmont High School. She is part of the dance team that she created this past year. She has been dancing and performing for most of her life. Rebecca was in her first production last summer in “The Pajama Game” as a featured dancer in “Steam Heat”. In November she was in Grand Hotel at Hillbarn as the dance captain to the choreographer. Rebecca loves working with children and teaching them. She worked at the Hillbarn summer camp last summer and just finished teaching classes there as well. She also taught children at her old dance studio, Studio S, teaching them jazz, tap and ballet. Rebecca loves to dance, teach and perform and she is very excited to share her passion this summer with all Broadway by the Bay teachers and students….
Annie Dahlberg, Assistant
Annie is thrilled to be making her “Debut” as an Assistant Staff Member with Broadway By the Bay’s YTC. Currently Annie is performing in The Music Man (Dance Captain) at DLOC and other credits include Suessical with ROL Theatre Co., (Dance Captain), 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, Joseph…Dreamcoat, Peter Pan (Lost Boy), Oliver (Orphan) with BBay and The King & I (Topsy/Wife) with DLOC. Annie, a sophomore at St. Ignatius College Preparatory, enjoys performing in their Dance IntenSIve group and Chorus. She trains in dance at Dance Arts Center and studies Voice/Acting at SFAPA. Annie recently was the Assistant to the Choreographer for Pied Pipers Suessical the Musical. Annie is grateful for this opportunity to work with her favorite Staff of BBBay!
